Three Simple Steps to Bring Fall into Your Home

The leaves are changing, and the weather is cooling. Refresh your home to match the season. With these inexpensive fall decorating ideas, you’ll be able to give your home some seasonal flare without breaking the bank.

  1. Make your house smell sensational with a warm-scented candle. Your mouth will water from the scent of pumpkin or apple pie, without the hassle of actually baking one. If baking is your thing, make a tasty treat to make the house smell authentically cozy.
  2. Decorate with your kids’ artwork. There is a good chance that during school or day care your kids will create some fall masterpieces. Whether it is a colored pumpkin or an intricate leaf design, laminate or put it in a frame to hang on the wall. If you don’t have an extra frame, just tape it to the wall or fridge.
  3. Make your table a focal point. Try using an autumn-colored tablecloth or placemat. You can create a fall centerpiece using pumpkins and gourds, or you can pick up some free autumn décor right outside your door. Grab some leaves, acorns and pinecones, and toss a bunch in a glass vase or bowl to create a nice centerpiece. You can also create a wreath with pinecones, nuts, branches and leaves by hot gluing them to Styrofoam. Pumpkins can be used to hold seasonal flowers or as candleholders.

Head outside; get gathering; and before you know it, your home will look as cozy and festive as it does outside.
