The Lazy Girl’s Guide to Black Friday

I love Black Friday Sales. Okay, take that back. I love Black Friday sales when I don’t have to wake up early, tackle some people at the store, and wait in line.

We’ve outlined a whole plan of attack for one half of the Black Friday crowd: the fiercely dedicated, fearless bargain hunters. But what about us? The ones who’d love the sale… if only we didn’t have to get out of bed for it?

Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered too. Sit back, relax, and let us show you how you can too get in on the Black Friday action and save some cash… all without leaving your couch.

Use that phone: You’re already inseparable, and now your phone’s going to help you save some $$$. Open up Key Ring a day or two before Black Friday and check out the circulars for the stores you’re interested in. We’ll have Black Friday circulars as they’re released, so there’s no need to get up to go find a real newspaper. Know you NEED that one sweater from your favorite store? Check that circular to see if they’ll have online sales going on too.

Yes, we’re going to have to get up early: So, good news is your favorite store IS having an online sale. Bad news: you’ll probably have to catch it… at 3 AM. It’s common for retailers to start online sales between midnight and 3 AM. They want to make it convenient, but not too convenient.

You just want clothes? Maybe hold off. Chances are, retailers will be having similar sales all through the holiday season.

Go early… as in, go a few days earlier: As we’ve been seeing more and more this year, retailers are extending their sales from a one day event to a week or more affair. If you don’t want to go out at 3 AM on Black Friday but still want to catch a good sale, make it to the store 10 days or less before Black Friday. You won’t catch the doorbusters only available the day of, but you’ll catch sales that are comparable in savings.

So there you have it. Still relaxed? Good. Sit back, grab your laptop, put on some Netflix, and let the savings come to you.
