November is here and so is the countdown to Black Friday! Over the next four weeks, we’ll be outlining a plan of attack to help you conquer any sales you plan to tackle that day. Check back with us every week as we bring you the best advice to tame Black Friday!
For our first part, we’re getting you organized.
Make a Master List: Once you get your hands on the newest Black Friday ads, make a list or spreadsheet of the items you want, where they are, the quantity and their price.
Make a Budget: As we told you last week in our Holiday Budget Guide (link), making sure your books are in order is a huge part of the Black Friday strategy. It doesn’t make sense to try and save big if you’re spending more than you have! Be firm in the budgets you choose and don’t be moved by deals that may seem unbeatable. Spending a few more dollars on something you didn’t originally plan for can ultimately throw off your entire Holiday budget.
Pay Attention: Keep your eyes peeled for leaked sales information, prematurely announced sales and Black Friday announcements. The sooner you become aware of what will be on sale, when, and for how much, the faster you’ll be able to see what fits your budget and your gift list.
Do your research: Don’t automatically assume Black Friday prices will be the ultimate bottom price. Do some research and compare, compare, compare! The item you might be particularly interested in might not be at its best price during the holidays.
